Sky

Sky came to rescue when he was ten years old.
Most of his life was spent as a sperm donor for a puppymill.
Sky has fathered about 150 whippet puppies in his lifetime.
When his health started to fail, he was released to whippet rescue.

Sky looked like he was 15 instead of 10.
His spine was roached and he walked very stiff legged.
He whimpered when he walked up steps.
He seemed to just want to sleep and not move around much.
He was grumpy.

X-rays were taken.
He does have some problems in the lumbar sacral area
which is affecting his range of motion in his hips and legs.
Years ago, Sky was hit by a car and kicked by a cow.

Sky began physical therapy at Back on Track Vet Rehab.
He gets a massage and gentle adjustments once a week
along with walking on a treadmill in a water tank.

He is gaining weight and muscle and is much more flexible.
And, he is not so grumpy anymore !

Sky and the water tank treadmill

Sky started out wearing a water vest in the tank.
But he figured out how to cheat and not work so hard.

So, Dr. Shaw created a halter for Sky & now he has to work in the tank.

Laura and the clock on the wall
keep Sky honest in his tread time and speed.

The tank is draining &
Sky walked 17 minutes at one mph.
