Margot's Story
My husband Tyler and I
bought a female puppy whippet
through a breeder recomendation.
She was born on December 29, 2004.
Unfortuately
our pooch,
her name is Margot,
suffered an eye injury
due to a blunt trauma
(which was a freak accident)
that happened while still
in the breeder's care.
We knew that her eye might have to be removed
when we first got her, but two vets informed us
that she had a fighting chance.

She was on the mend for about a month until
she developed glaucoma in the injured eye.
She
was really in a lot of pain
and she was very tired all of the time
and not at all acting her age (6 months).
She
lost sight in her eye due to the glaucoma
and had to have the eyeball removed.

About
a month after the procedure,
she was feeling great !
She's
feeling like a free spirited puppy.

It's a joy to see her playful and energetic
(not so much a joy to see her chewing everything).
She
has alreay adapted amazingly to her loss;
she runs at full speed and
trots around like she has two eyes.

We're
just in awe
of her gusto.
Whippets
are wonderful!
Even if they only have one eye!
Sincerely,
Courtney and Tyler McPherson
